In my abstract paintings I am striving to achieve visual sensations of play, flow and dazzle. By using the formal aspects of painting, such as the interactions of color, shape, visual rhythm and spatial relationships, I hope to provoke a heightened awareness of the perceptive process. I would like to create an image that allows the act of seeing to be an engaged and playful process - an act of creativity itself. Unlike the passive acceptance of watching TV, looking at art practices a lucid, playful and thoughtful mind.
